PSI together with the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia implemented a project “Improving Access to Social Protection through Capacity Building of Local Social Workers” in Georgia, 2003. The project was supported by the Council of Europe. The main objective of the project was to improve access to social protection through training the social workers and representatives of local governments responsible in social issues in two regions of Georgia. The trainings contributed to the improvement of skills of social workers in determining the eligibility criteria and calculation of social protection benefits as well as creation of minimal social benefit package.
